This covers the TrueRule iOS app, published by Ovemora. If anything here is unclear, write to ovemora.support@gmail.com.
What stays on your device
- Every calculation, and the tape they are saved to
- Your jobs, their names and their notes
- Your settings: precision, units, hand, glove mode, trade defaults
This lives in the app's own storage on your iPhone or iPad. It is included in your device backup if you back up, because that is how iOS backs up apps. There is no server and no account, so there is nowhere else for it to go.
What is collected, and by whom
Three services process limited data on our behalf. None of them receive a measurement, a job name or a tape line.
Firebase Crashlytics
GoogleIf the app crashes: the stack trace, the iOS version, the device model and a random installation identifier. This is what lets a bug that only happens on one device get fixed. Switch it off in Settings.
Firebase Analytics
GoogleCounts of which screens are opened and which features are used. That a stair calculation finished, not what it calculated. Switch it off in Settings.
RevenueCat
purchaseRemembers that you own the app, using an anonymous identifier and the receipt Apple issues. Never your name, your email or your card. Apple handles the payment; we never touch it.
Google's handling is covered by the Firebase privacy documentation, RevenueCat's by their policy.
What is never collected
- No advertising identifier and no advertising SDK. There are no ads in TrueRule and there will not be.
- No location. The app never asks.
- No contacts, photos, microphone or camera.
- No account, no email address, no password.
- No tracking across other apps or websites.
Turning it off, and your rights
Open Settings in the app and switch off Share usage data. Analytics and crash reporting both stop from that moment. The app works exactly the same either way.
Because we hold no account and nothing that identifies you, there is no profile for us to show you or delete. Deleting the app removes everything it stored. To have crash and analytics records for your installation identifier deleted, write to ovemora.support@gmail.com and we will pass the request to Google.
TrueRule is a tool for the building trades and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect anything from a child under 13.
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and the new version appears here before the release it applies to.
